Pregame: Barcelona versus Arsenal round DOS

Okay yes, I know, I have been absent and haven't covered a few important matches but I'm back!

Barcelona Versus Arsenal - Champions league
ROUND TWO

Arsenal is going to Nou Camp with 6 injured players: Van Persie, Walcott, Fabregas, Fabianski, Vermaelen, and Song; meanwhile Barcelona's one injured player is Jeffren. On Feb. 16th at the Emirates Stadium, Barca's David Villa was the only one who could defeat Arsenal's Szczesny - Tomorrow, could be a whole different story as the blue and red stripes play in their own turf.

Lets talk logistics here, the last time these two teams faced eachother at the Nou Camp in Barcelona, the Gunners were shellacked 4-1. I wouldn't call that game Barcelona vs. Arsenal rather than Lionel Messi vs. Arsenal - its usually a one man show. Will we feel a little deja vu while watching tomorrows match or will we see something completely different and potentially mind blowing? Mind blowing like the Chelsea vs. Manchester United premier league match... ooor the Liverpool vs. Man-U shock-fest(Yeah, I KNOW!)

It could get messy with Messi tomorrow, as he'll be in the spotlight again; this could be alot of pressure for the Argentine since he missed a few easy "Messi shots" in London. Can he redeem himself?

WE SHALL SEE! ... dun dun dun. BAM!

Preditated... my new word. Canucks Versus Predators: Aftermathematics.

La di da La di do.
They're called Predators for a reason... because they creep up on you.

The last 12 Canucks game have been alternating between WINNING and LOSING. We won the last game against the Blue Jackets and in order to keep up with the pattern we just HAD to lose this one?! Well thats what happened. 3-0 Nashville - who let me remind you was 9th in the standings up until today. Even so, the Canucks remain #1 in the NHL standings.

Who scored:
The pressure was on for Mr. Geoffrin, Mr. 4th generation player to make the NHL - the first Tennessee native to play in the NHL... okay we get it, the first everything in the NHL. Tonight he proved himself by snatching Tootoo's pass and planting one into Luongo's territory - who was just not fast enough. Geez LUEyz. Hah, get it? Louiz, Lueyz? Anyhow, Hornqvist just went in there and jacked the puck from poor Hamhuis and Luongo was defeated, again. 2-0 Nashville. Okay, I'm so over being clever...Basically, Legwand made it passed everyone and scored on Luongo at 19:25 in the 3rd period making the final score 3-0 Predators.

What happened?
The Canucks are getting cocky. They saw the Preds sitting at 9th place and thought it would be an easy win for them. Little did they know, they're following a win lose pattern and 'according to my calculations' the Canucks were supposed to lose tonight. Its either that or the fact that the exact same line up keeps playing over and over again. Don't get me wrong, the Canucks did make an effort, but was it big enough? Its inevitable that they're going to make the playoffs but will they be #1 in the Western Conference? At this rate, helllzzz to the no! They need to play harder in order to be #1 in the West and that being said they haven't won back to back in a month. Still, I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt and blame those who are injured. Injured line, stop being injured please and help your team out! Thanks.
Sincerely, Sports by Sahar President, Sahar.
BAM!

I'm so over talking about this.

PREGAME: CANUCKS versus PREDATORS

Oh hi dehr.

So much soccer talk you must've thought I forgot about my home team: CANUCKS.

Interesting. Vancouver has been winning every second game. They lost to the Bruins, won against the Blue Jackets and today are playing the Predators - does this mean we're going to lose today?

This is the 3rd time these two teams are meeting this season. On January 26th the Predators met us in Vancouver for a 2-1 win for the Canucks. They reunited on February 17th in good ol' Nashville, where the predators won 3-1. The predators DESPERATELY need to win this game - since they lost their last game to the Oilers 2-1. The Preds were only boosted to 9th place in the Western conference because of their one lonesome point. Coach Barry Trotz always wants at least 2 points, and is disappointed at how they're playing right now.

The Canucks won their last game 3-2 against the Blue Jackets; Captain Sedin noted, "we didn't play our best game but we managed to win against a team that is playing really well at the moment." Maybe that mentality will bring bad luck to the Cancucks tonight, as they come on to play the Predators. They might not give it their all, and expect a win anyhow? I feel like that may be a BAD IDEA considering the fact that Nashville is coming to this game with focus and a drive to win win win.

I don't know about you but I can't wait to see what happens tonight

Okay lets all take a moment and breath in silence. Ready? Go...

30 seconds of silence has passed...

WHAT THE HELL!

Did Chelsea REALLY just beat Manchester United? 2-1? I wish I was at Stamford Bridge standing beside Sir Alex Ferguson when Luiz scored the equalizer... I think I might have laughed at him, but only because of how confident he was in winning at Stamford this afternoon. Okay, lets discuss..

Just minutes into the game and Torres already kicks the ball at net and misses. On the other end Nani delivers to Hernandez who basically passed it to Chelsea's goalie Petr Cech(he's pretty unstoppable). Torres had a short lived celebration as he tried to score again, and failed. The first 15 minutes of the match showed how desperately Chelsea needed to win since they had most of the ball possession. Torres, Essian, and Malouda all attempted a shot on goal but were denied. Finally, after 15 minutes of Chelsea making passes and trying to score, United makes its first real introduction with Chelsea's goal but once again Cech intervened. FERGS turned that frown UPSIDE DOWN as pass pass pass pass, Wayne Rooney maintains posession and GOOOAAAALLL -  Rooney scores for United - as he has in 3 consecutive premier games. Cech definitely made an effort here as he flopped over to his right and just missed the ball.

I'm pretty sure Rooney made a concious effort to stay away from the young, invincible and Brazilian, David Luiz. Malouda made a free kick that ALMOST made it but not quite and Lampard shot on target but it was soon saved by the great Van Der Sar. Bam Bam Bam diggy Bam Bam at 54 minutes with an assist by Ivanovic, Luiz slaps the ball in with his holy foot like it was nobodys business. Aw, Fergies upside down frown turned right side up. Through out the game Torres was eager for his first Chelsea goal, but could never quite make it. Does Chelsea's management regret their decision of buying him from Liverpool? Who knows. A 1-1 tie as Berbatov gets ready to come onto the field and Anelka was subbed for Mr. Didier Drogba himself... who was surprisingly in a pleasant mood today. Lampard at 79 minutes received a penalty kick; Lampard versus Van Der Sar - well we all know what happened after that. 2-1 Chelsea. Lampard was praised by Drogba who gave him a nice little hug and Ancelotti smiled, relieved. The commentators in awe said that Chelsea didnt't just win this match for themselves, they won it for Manchester City, they won it for Arsenal... they won it for all those who could not defeat the Red Devils. Damn. That was intense. Chelsea show cased why they used to be on top and basically proved that they still got it...

I'm ready to see what kind of surprises the Blues have in store next...

HERES A QUESTION? Okay yes, Chelsea won, but what I want to know is why none of their strikers scored? Goals were made by defender LUIZ and midfielder LAMPARD.
